Exploits
and Triumphs, in Europe, of Paul Morphy, The Chess Champion
Including
an historical account of clubs, biographical sketches of famous
players, and various information and anecdote relating to the noble
game of chess. By Paul Morphy's late secretary. Illustrated with
ten portraits on wood. D. Appleton and Company, 1859
This
historically important book in Chess history is from a Maine estate
and is in near fine condition! The only flaw I see is a chip off
of the spine which you can see in the picture. The previous owner's
name is written in the front with a few other very small scribbles.
The binding is tight, the pages have little to no foxing and there
is no moldy odor to this book. A beautiful copy for a lucky collector.
