Antique
Victorian "Monday's Child" Poem Die Cut Lithograph Paper
Fan

*Not
a reproduction*. This fragile, antique heavyweight paper fan is
both beautiful and endearing despite being imperfect. It is from
the Victorian Era, circa 1880's. It is seven panels with colorful
lithographs of the child of the day of the week from the poem
"Monday's Child." It also has curious sentiments written
beneath. One panel, Monday, sadly became torn off at some point
and has a water stain. The ribbon is holding tight so that the
remaining six panels open and close. There is a some handwriting
in light pencil on the back. There is no publisher listed but
it looks very much like like Raphael Tuck. Measures 8 1/2"
long when closed.
I
love Wednesday's Child: "Wednesday's child is full of woe"
is written underneath a sullen, pouty girl. Then:
Cruel
children
Crying babies
All grow up
A s geese and gabies
